What is a Road Bicycle

“A man on foot, on horseback or on a bicycle will see more, feel more, enjoy more in one mile than the motorized tourists can in a hundred miles.” ~Edward Abbey

A road bicycle is a bicycle that is designed for road riding. The road bike is the most common type of bicycle; it is made to be ridden on paved roads. The road bike is made with a light frame and narrow tires. Road bikes are typically used for racing, but you can also use them for fitness or transportation.

Riding a road bicycle can be a different experience than riding a mountain bike or a cruiser. Road bikes are made to go fast, requiring you to Peddle in a more aerodynamic position. This can take some time, but it will help you go faster and use less energy. Road bikes also have gears, which allow you to adjust your pedaling speed to match the terrain.

Knowing what to expect is essential if you're considering getting a road bike. Riding a road bicycle can be an adjustment if you're used to riding other types of bikes. But once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to enjoy the speed and efficiency that road biking has to offer.

$100 vs $1,000 vs $7,000 road bike TEST (WHATS THE DIFFERENCE???)

$100 vs $1,000 vs $7,000 road bike TEST (WHATS THE DIFFERENCE???)

I took a $129 Walmart road bike, and put it through a series of tests against a $1,399 Schwinn Carbon Fastback, and my $7,000 Canyon SLX 9 with Princeton Carbonworks wheels. I used power pedals from Assioma so the power was consistent for all of the tests. I wanted to see what the difference was between a Walmart road bike, an entry level road bike, and a full on race machine. I talk through the tests and the results but I also go into the overall experience of each bike. Cycling is not just about speed, it's about the whole experience. So does a $7,000 road bike actually make that big of a difference? Watch the video for my thoughts. Also, of course there are variables that I cant control for. IM NOT PUBLISHING A PIER REVIEWED PAPER HERE DUDE. This is more for entertainment than actual science. But the bikes have enough of a difference between them that 100% of the time the results will show the same conclusion, just not down to the second.
