Kayak Ice Breaker. Breaking ice on the Pawtuxet river in Hope Rhode Island. As soon as winter starts to loosen its grip and the air temp is above 50, sometime in March, I love to take the kayak out on the river. It is very quiet, and peaceful, and I'm almost always guaranteed to have the whole river to myself. This day I was out with my best friend and cousin, but the day prior I was out by myself, and it was a perfect time to be alone in nature, find solitude and recharge my batteries.
